9:20 a.m.: Meet a few minutes early at lower lot outside the main gate

9:30 – 10:30: Private tour

10:30 – 11:00: Enjoy the site on your own (viewing deck, gift shop, etc.)

11:00 – Noon: Gather at picnic tables with fellow alums (bring-your-own)

The Marine Mammal Center (MMC) is the largest marine mammal hospital in the world.  Its mission is to advance global ocean conservation through marine mammal rescue and rehabilitation, scientific research, and education.

Mitch has been a volunteer Animal Care Specialist at MMC for 14 seasons. He is trained for Rescue, Education, and Animal Care.  Retiring from a career in financial services, he became a development officer and currently manages individual and planned giving as well as engaging donors in MMC’s activities.

The tour is a short, flat quarter of a mile, but the private area is not handicapped approved.  Strollers and wheelchairs are not recommended.  Closed toe shoes are suggested.  A significant portion of the tour includes a visit to the animal hospital, where our group needs to stay together and keep noise to a minimum.

Mitch is offering this tour as a courtesy, so we encourage you to give a donation at the end of the tour.
